University of Victoria
What’s Campus Like?
UVic sits on beautiful Vancouver Island full of coastal weather, great food, and exciting campus life. It is located on the lands and traditional territory of the Lekwungen peoples.
Who do I Talk to?
Well, our Campus Minister, Rev. Min-Goo there is a great start (he’s also a minister at BroadView United Church just up the street). He can help you figure out where to begin, continue, or rethink your faith journey and knows where to get the best Japanese takeout in Victoria!
What’s going on?
Lots. We suggest checking in to find out the specifics, but all of what’s going on will be on our Instagram.

SHAWN JUNG
Shawn is an alumnus of the Uvic Applied Linguistics program, and rooftop dweller of the Clearihue Building. At any given moment, he is likely thinking about food, from planning out new recipes, to piecing together foodway narratives. Food is always on his mind, and as such, he feels most at home in a kitchen. In fact, he is frankly alarmed that anyone can feel comfortable outside of a kitchen. How can one feel safe without quick access to a soup? He wonders this often.
You can run into Shawn in the Gordon Head area, trying to convince George the peacock to eat birdseed instead of old sandwich bread. He is currently losing this battle.
SOPH HELM
Soph (they/them) is working towards getting their Bachelor’s Degree in Religion, Culture and Society at UVic. They spent most of their time mending clothes, playing video games and being outdoors. A fun fact about Soph is that they’ve shaved their head 3 times!
